Mat Pilates – Foundations

55 minutes

The pilates foundations classes are aimed at anyone who is new to Pilates and wants to build a solid basis. This class is also for people who are getting back into sports after a long break or injury.
The classes are designed to help you understand the pilates method and enable you to learn how to execute the exercises properly. The emphasis is on body awareness, technique, and quality.

If you are new to Pilates, it is recommended that you take 5 to 10 classes at this level before moving on to the next level.

Pregnancy and post-partum:

Pregnant women are welcome to attend this class as long as your doctor finds no contraindications to practicing Pilates during your pregnancy. Exercises will be adapted if necessary and some small props such as pregnancy wedges will be provided for your comfort.

Women who have recently given birth are encouraged to resume Pilates at this level in order to ensure proper abdominal rehabilitation before moving on to the next level. Please make you have the go-ahead from your medical team before booking your session.

Mat Pilates – Intermediate level

55 minutes

The intermediate mat classes are more dynamic and challenging. They are intended for members who have already completed 5 to 10 classes at the beginner level or for clients who already have a good foundation in Pilates practice.

They include progressions of the basic pilates exercises and combine classical and contemporary Pilates. Various small pieces of equipment will be used to challenge your balance and strength. These classes will correct any preconceptions that mat pilates is easier than reformer Pilates!
Pregnancy and post-partum:
Pregnant women are welcome to attend this class if you were already practicing pilates before your pregnancy. Always ensure your doctor or midwife finds no contraindications to practicing Pilates during your pregnancy before booking your session.

Women who have recently given birth are encouraged to resume Pilates at the Foundations-level classes before signing in to intermediate level classes.

Mat Pilates – For Runners
